About Andrea Kersting (They/She)
Andrea Kersting - Clinical Social Work Associate / Therapist

You’re Not Broken. You’re Carrying More Than Most People Can See.
You’re at a moment where you feel things need to shift. Maybe you’re tired of feeling anxious, disconnected, or stuck in patterns you can’t quite explain. Maybe trauma has shaped the way you move through the world, even if you’ve worked hard to leave it behind. Or maybe you’re going through something new: a shift in identity, a major life transition, or the quiet exhaustion of chronic illness, and you don’t want to navigate it alone.
Whatever it is, therapy doesn’t have to feel clinical or cold. This is a space where you’re seen fully, met with presence and humanity, and supported with compassion and honesty.
Therapy That Centers You, Not Just What You’ve Been Through
You’ve likely spent a lot of time surviving. That matters. But you also deserve space to reflect, question, feel, and grow, not just push through. In therapy, you get to show up as you are. Thoughtful. Protective. Uncertain. Curious. All of it is welcome.
We’ll explore how your past shows up in the present, how your body responds to stress or safety, and how you’ve learned to protect yourself. You’ll begin to notice what’s no longer serving you, and you’ll gain tools that feel accessible and aligned with the kind of life you’re trying to build.
What It’s Like to Work Together
You can expect a down-to-earth, collaborative space where you don’t have to explain everything before being understood. I’ll bring a trauma-informed, person-centered approach, and we’ll draw from a mix of tools based on what feels right for you, whether that’s somatic work, expressive therapy, mindfulness, or strategies from CBT.
Sessions aren’t about checking boxes. They’re about helping you connect the dots in a way that feels empowering, not overwhelming. You’ll be supported, but never pushed. Heard, but never picked apart.
Who I Support
You might be:
Holding onto trauma that still shows up in your body or relationships
Struggling with anxiety or feeling stuck in loops of overthinking
Feeling low, numb, or unsure of how to reconnect with yourself
Navigating identity, queerness, or the weight of religious trauma
Caring for others while quietly unraveling inside
Living with chronic illness and trying to manage the emotional toll
Recovering from a chapter that left you feeling unsteady
Whatever you’re carrying, you don’t have to do it silently. This is a space where your pain is valid, your progress doesn’t have to be linear, and your healing gets to look like you.
A Bit About Me
I became a therapist because I’ve experienced the kind of struggle that changes you and the growth that can follow. I’ve worked with people across the lifespan in schools, in homes, in treatment centers, and in outpatient care. No matter the setting, one truth has stayed constant: people heal in spaces where they feel safe, respected, and seen.
I’m queer, deeply empathetic, and relentlessly committed to honoring the strength it takes to show up for yourself. I hold both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Portland State University and am trained in Trauma-Focused CBT. I’m also exploring EMDR training to expand how I support trauma recovery.
Outside of therapy, I recharge by being in nature, listening to music, reading, and spending time with the people who remind me what matters.
If You’re Ready to Begin
You don’t need to have the “perfect words” or the “right reason” to reach out. If something here resonates, if even a small part of you feels ready to feel more like yourself again, that’s enough.
You can conveniently schedule an intake assessment with me using the calendar below. If you have any questions before scheduling, feel free to call our office at (207) 316-2609 or reach out through our contact form.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Practice
Sessions are conducted primarily online via telehealth. If you are interested in meeting with a provider in-person, please contact our office at (207) 316-2609 to discuss availability for in-person sessions.
I accept Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield (Anthem, Premera, Regence, etc.), Cigna, PacificSource, and Providence. However, I may not accept your specific insurance plan. It is your responsibility to verify that our organization is in-network with your plan and that services are covered.
If at any time we discover that we are not in-network with your insurance plan, you will be responsible for the full costs of all sessions (past and future).
Please note, I do not accept Medicaid, Medicare, or work with EAPs.
Services are available to self-pay clients and those with out-of-network benefits.
Please call our office at (207) 316-2609 or complete our contact form if you have any questions.
For individuals using insurance to cover appointments, the cost of appointments is determined by each insurance’s contracted rates with our organization. Thus, the cost of appointments may be notably different than the cost of appointments for individuals who are self-pay. Furthermore, the cost of appointments may vary from session to session depending on several factors to include the length of the appointment and the complexity of the appointment. If you plan to use insurance, our office can provide a better estimate of costs once you provide your insurance information. Please contact us at (207) 316-2609 if you require further assistance.
For individuals who are self-pay:
Rates vary depending on type of service (therapy vs. medication management) and length of session. Please contact our office for additional information.
Payments are completed through our patient portal. Payments can be made using major credit/debit cards (American Express, Visa, Mastercard, etc.) as well as FSAs and HSAs.
Our policy is to collect payments before rendering services. However, we cannot always predict the cost of sessions in advance because services and length of sessions may vary from appointment to appointment. For clients using insurance, you will likely be responsible for either a co-pay or for paying the full costs of sessions until your deductible is met. Please ensure you fully understand your insurance benefits to prevent future billing concerns.
Regardless of your insurance status and payment method, we will always be as up-front with you as possible about the cost of treatment.
- The online scheduler above shows my availability over the next 20 days. If no appointments are available, please check back in a few days.
- For appointments beyond this 20-day window, you can return closer to your preferred appointment date. Alternatively, you can view availability for our other therapists here.
Clients must cancel or reschedule appointments at least 48 hours before their appointment. If appointments are not canceled or rescheduled with at least 48 hours’ notice, or if clients do not show to their appointment, they will be charged a late cancellation fee of $150. To ensure we treat all clients consistently and ethically and to be respectful of our providers’ time, we must enforce our late cancellation and no-show policy. Fees incurred for late cancellations and no shows are out-of-pockets expenses. They cannot be billed to insurance.
